Antique Ceramic Pitcher Signed WR 669 West Germany Blue Cobalt.
Anton Marzi and Simon Peter Remy founded their company in the town of Höhr in Westerwald in 1879. In 1880 they also started to produce articles from tinplate. By the end of the 19th century, Marzi & Remi already employed more than 100 people. The factory became Germany's leading manufacturer of sandstone. In 1927, the company was taken over by Werner Remy (son of Simon Peter Remy) and Otto Buhler. In 1994, the factory was closed for good. Early Marzi & Remy items are rarely marked. They are mainly identified on the basis of old factory catalogues.
